Elon Musk is a South African-born American business magnate, industrial designer, and engineer. He is the founder, CEO, and chief engineer/designer of SpaceX; early investor, CEO, and product architect of Tesla, Inc.; founder of The Boring Company; and co-founder of Neuralink. Musk is also a co-founder and initial co-chairman of OpenAI. A centibillionaire, Musk is one of the richest people in the world.
 
    Musk is known for his ambitious goals, which include reducing global warming through sustainable energy production and consumption, and reducing the risk of human extinction by establishing a human colony on Mars. He has proposed the Hyperloop, a high-speed vactrain transportation system.


In December 2016, he was ranked 11th on the Forbes list of The World's Billionaires. As of December 2020, he was listed by Forbes as the second-richest person in the world, with an estimated net worth of $151.4 billion.
